"HENRY ERNEST WARSOP was the managing proprietor of Messrs. H. E. Warsop and Son, general engineers, of Nottingham, and had been head of the firm for fifty-two years.
He was born in 1875, and after leaving school continued his education at University College, Nottingham. His apprenticeship was served with Messrs. E. Reader and Sons in Nottingham, from 1891 to 1896. In the latter year he established his firm and specialized in the manufacture of internal combustion engines. Later he enlarged the scope of the business to include the manufacture of special machinery, which he designed and patented, for the production of bitumen. Mr. Warsop was the inventor of Warsop's patent petrol rock drill and road breaker. He continued as managing proprietor of the business until his death, which occurred on 3rd October 1948.
He had been a Member of the Institution since 1936."
