1895 'Messrs. Henry F. Joel and Co., of Wilson-street, Finsbury-square, have supplied the electric plant for the new Government House, Rangoon. The installation comprises two 250-lamp dynamos, with mains, switches, and fittings for 400 incandescent lamps, 11 of which are of 200 candle-power.'[1]
