1858 Born the son of George David Bellamy

1920 Died. 'We regret to announce the death of H. F. Bellamy, which occurred at his residence, Hill Crest, Mannamead, yesterday. Mr. Bellamy had only been ill about three days, and no fatal termination of that illness was expected; but in the early hours of the morning he passed away in his sleep, death being attributed to heart failure. Henry Franklin Bellamy was the son o f the late Mr. G. D, Bellamy, for some years borough surveyor and water engineer of Plymouth. He was educated at Dr. Holmes’ Mannamead School, and afterwards served articles with his father as a civil engineer. In 1883 he went in the colonial service to the Straits Settlements, where he did excellent pioneer work on irrigation, road and bridge building. But his health became affected by the climate, and in 1903 he was invalided out of the service with an exceptionally good pension in recognition of his services. These services included the formation at Selangot of a fire brigade, which he worked for some years and was highly commended for by the Government. When be returned to mouth he went into partnership with his father as a civil engineer, but in later years devoted himself in measure to and fishing...'[1]
