1881 Living at 266 Ashton Old Road, Chorlton: Henry Gittus (age 37 born Droitwich), Master Tool Maker. With his wife Margaret Gittus (age 37 born Newton-le-Willows) and their four children John Gittus (age 10 born West Gorton); Alice Gittus (age 8 born Silkstone); Frances Gittus (age 6 born Dodsworth); and Annie Gittus (age 5 born Barnsley).[1]

1911 Living at High Field, Torkington, Stockport: Henry Gittus (age 67 born Worcs.), Machine Tool Maker and Employer. With his wife Margaret Gittus (age 67 born Newton-le-Willows) and their two daughters. They have been married 40 years with three living children. One servant.[2]
