c1863 Born in Eling, Hants, the son of Henry Holmes, a Cabinet maker. 1889 March 28th. Married in Dulwich to Rosa Kate Dunnett

1902 Appointed Superintendent of the London and South Western Railway

1911 Living at South Bank Lodge, Surbiton: Henry Holmes (age 47 born Eling, Hants), Railway Superintendent. With his wife Rose Kate Holmes (age 42 born Norwood) and their five children; Maud Holmes (age 18 born Raynes Park); Frank Holmes (age 16 born Raynes Park); Harry Alexander Holmes (age 14 born Putney); Nina Mary Holmes (age 12 born Putney); and Dora Holmes (age 7 born Surbiton). One servant.

1933 December 31st. Died, of Lacey, Salisbury Road, Swanage. Probate to Frank Holmes, motor engineer, and Archie Coote Holmes, retired railway official.
