1899 Obituary [1]
HENRY SEBASTIAN HART, son of Mr. R. Sebastian Hart, of Surbiton, was born on the 29th December, 1868.
In 1884 he became a pupil of John Taylor and Sons, now John Taylor, Sons and Santo Crimp, of Westminster; and on the expiration of his pupilage he remained with that firm as an Assistant, being employed on various water-supply, main-drainage and sewage disposal works.
In 1894 he was appointed Assistant Engineer to the Shanghai Waterworks Company, and four years later he was entrusted with the charge of the works during the temporary absence of the Chief Engineer. Mr. Hart’s career was unfortunately cut short by an attack of haemorrhage, which proved fatal on the 11th April, 1899.
He was elected an Associate Member of the Institution on the 4th December, 1894.
