Lt-Col. Herbert Niblett CME, DSO (Fellow) died recently aged 87.

A member of the Institution since 1920 Col. Niblett served in both world wars. In the former he was awarded a DSO and in the 1939-45 war was a Deputy Director of the department of Tank Design concerned with all wheeled vehicles.

He will be remembered by many for his forthright personality and charming manner and it is with deep regret that the Institution records the passing of an old friend.
