Highton Battery Co

The Rev Henry Highton (1816 - 1874) researched galvanism and ways of improving batteries. He produced several new types of battery, one of which (a type of zinc carbon battery) found much favour among electroplaters.

c.1873 His battery patents were purchased and the Highton Battery Company was set up to work them.

1873 Alfred Rosling Bennett became electrician to the company.
