c1870-1900 Thudichum's nasal speculum. Brass nasal speculum made by the Holborn Surgical Instrument Co, based on the design of John Thudichum (1829-1901). A speculum is an instrument designed to allow a doctor to view the inside of a passage or cavity of the body. [1]
