Holman, Ham and Co

John Holman, was a druggist in Exeter together with his son-in-law (and former apprentice) James Ham.

Founded the firm of Holman, Ham & Co, which had several chemist shops located in Devon.

1861 '...an Order of the High Court of Chancery, made in the matter of the estate of Charles Holman Ham, late of the city of Exeter, Chemist and Druggist, deceased, and in a cause William James Ham and another, against Mary Sarah Ham, and another, all persons claiming to be creditors of Charles Holman Ham, late of Exeter, Chemist and Druggist, who died on or about the 4th day of April, 1860,...'[1]

1871 Living at 187 High Street, Exeter: Mary S. Ham (age 59 born Exeter), Chemist and Druggist. Other listed including her sister and David R. Davies.[2]

1947 Death of Philip Foale Rowsell, Chairman of Holman, Ham and Co.[3]
