1794 Sale Notice: 'CAPITAL COTTON MILLS, HOLYWELL, FLINTSHIRE.
TO BE SOLD BY AUCTION, BY MR. POWELL AND SON, (By virtue of and under execution levied by the High-Sheriff of the county of Flint)
On Thursday the 17th day of April, 1794, at the White-horse inn, Holywell, between the hours of four and eight o'clock, subject to conditions of sale then to be produced ; in one lot;
ONE undivided full SEVENTH PART or SHARE the beneficial estate and interest of and all those THREE large, commodious, and valuable COTTON MANUFACTORIES, with the machinery, warehouses, work-shops, out-offices, and other conveniences and appurtenances thereunto belonging, late the property of Daniel Whittaker, merchant, deceased, late one of the proprietors of the Holywell Cotton Twist Company.
The situation is one of the most eligible North-Wales, and has a plentiful supply of water at all seasons of the year.
All the machinery for carding and preparing cotton for twist, are in perfect repair, and to be upon the best condition. The buildings are substantial and in excellent repair, being new-built with brick and stone, and covered with slate.
