Hounslow Power Station

Hounslow power station generated and supplied electricity to the district of Hounslow, Heston and Isleworth in west London.

1904 The station was built and operated by Heston and Isleworth Borough Council. Originally it was steam powered

1948 Nationalisation of the electricity industry.

Capacity was 2.35 MW

1950s Two 900 MW diesel-engine powered generators were added.

The power station was redeveloped as demand for electricity grew and old plant was replaced

1963 The steam plant was decommissioned

1964 The station was closed.
