1888 The conjuror, Mr Bertram, successfully sued Messrs Howard and Wyndham for breach of contract[1]

1895 The company was registered March 5, 1895, and owns the Royal Lyceum Theatre, Edinburgh, the Theatre Royal, Edinburgh, and the Theatre Royal and King’s Theatre, Glasgow, and holds leases of the Royalty Theatre, Glasgow, and Tyne Theatre, Newcastle-on-Tyne.

1977 Announced that it planned to axe its regional theatre operations; retail business was increasing but publishing had plateaued[2]

By 1984 the main subsidiary was W. H. Allen[3] Inc. of New York.

1987 Intermediate Securities made a cash offer for the company[4]
