Educated at Bristol University in physics; achieved D.Sc.

1911 Joined BTH. Worked as tester, meter engineer, engineer of insulation.

1924 Appointed deputy chief of BTH Research Laboratory

1929 Appointed Head of the BTH Research laboratory.

Also became Director of engineering and managing director.

1948 Appointed managing director of AEI

Also on the boards of Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Co, Edison Swan Electric Co, and associated and similar companies such as Westland Aircraft Co, Switchgear Testing Co, Siemens Brothers and Co
