1936 Henry Charles Husband, Anthony Clark and his father, Joseph Husband, founded the firm of Husband and Clark in Sheffield, consulting engineers.

Other offices were subsequently opened in London and in Colombo in Ceylon.

A variety of public works varying from major road and railway bridges to drainage and water supply schemes.

1937 H. C. Husband became senior partner

Post-WWII Clark retired from the partnership; the firm became Husband and Co
