1808 For sale. Adjoins the lower weir near the Engine Bridge, Exeter.[1]

1834 Partnership dissolved. '...George Carton and John Garton, hitherto carrying on the business of Whitesmiths, Coppersmiths, Brass-Founders, and Grinders, in Partnership at Hutch-Mill, Head-Weir, Exeter, under the firm of G. and J. Garton, make oath, and say, that we have mutually agreed to dissolve the said Partnership and it is and was dissolved...'[2]

1888 '"Hutch," or "Hatch Mills," immediately adjoining "Blackallers" weir, E.N.E. end. Purchased by "Tremlett" about 1870 to 1875.'[3]
