1890 Inabata Senryoten was established as an importer of dyestuffs in Kyoto
1894 Started making muslin; researched European technologies and imported equipment for making muslin
1897 Imported first cinema projection equipment in Japan. Moved head office to Osaka.
1944 Nippon Senryo merged with Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd. Inabata became the exclusive distributor of dyestuffs, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals for Sumitomo Chemical.
1961 Separation of the Plastics Department from the Chemicals Department
1974 Established Building Materials Division
1977 Food Department became independent of the Chemicals Division
1983 Set up Machinery and Electronics Materials Division
1984 Set up separate Pharmaceutical Division
2000 Established Inabata UK
2002 Acquired Nobel Enterprises from ICI. Nobel was based in Ardeer; manufactured and supplied a range of pyrotechnic and propellant devices, rocket motors and demolition stores.
2005 Inabata UK Ltd sold Nobel Energetics Limited (aka Troon Investments) to Chemring.
