Institution of Incorporated Engineers

1989 The Association of Supervising Executive Engineers merged with the Institute of Executive Engineers and Officers (formed 1947) to form the Institution of Incorporated Engineers

1998 the Institution of Mechanical Incorporated Engineers, the Institution of Electronics and Electrical Incorporated Engineers and the Institute of Engineers and Technicians merged to form the Institution.

1999 The Institution of Incorporated Executive Engineers was absorbed

2005 the Society of Engineers was absorbed by the Institution of Incorporated Engineers (IIE).

2006 The IIE joined with the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) to become The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET)
