A bridge across the Yare at Yarmouth

c.1855 A bridge was built

1926 It was decided that the existing bridge was not large or strong enough for modern requirements. Sir William Arrol and Co proposed a new bridge at cost of £200,000. During construction a temporary bridge would be built upstream of the new work.
