James Hutchinson Mann (1860-1956) of Mann's Patent Steam Cart and Wagon Co‎

1860 May 2nd. Born in Leeds the son of William Mann and his wife Elizabeth. Brother of William Hutchinson Mann and George Hutchinson Mann

1871 Living at Lewis? Street, Potter Newton, Yorkshire (age 10). With his mother Elizabeth (age 33 born Sheffield), Widow and his siblings William H. (age 11), Annie E. (age 8), George H. (age 5). One servant. [1]

1881 Living at 2 Eva Villas, Potter Newton, Yorkshire (age 20 born Leeds), Mechanical Draughtsman. With his brother William H. (age 21 born Leeds), Mechanical Draughtsman; George H. (15 born Montreal, Canada), Mining Engineer's Apprentice; and Annie E. (age 18 born Leeds). [2]

Mann was apprenticed to J. and H. McLaren and also worked for Marshall, Sons and Co. of Gainsborough.

Married Georgina Ball

1891 Living at Grange Cottage, Weeton, Yorkshire (age 30 born Leeds), Mechanical Engineer, Draughtsman. With wife Georgina (age 30 born Pendolan, Glamorgan). Plus one general servant. [3]

1894 January. He formed a partnership with Sidney Charlesworth under the title Mann and Charlesworth.

1899 The company became Mann's Patent Steam Cart and Wagon Co

1901 Living at 37 Grange Avenue, Leeds (age 40 born Leeds), Mechanical Engineer and Employer. With wife Georgina (age 40 born Cardiff) and sons Sidney (age 7) and Arthur (age 6). One servant. [4]

1911 Living at Aldersyde, Huby, with wife Georgina age 50 and sons Sidney 17 and Arthur 16, and one servant.[5]

1956 Died aged 97

MI for James Hutchinson Mann age 97 died 1956 and his wife Georgina Mann age 80 died 1940 at St Barnabas’s Church Cemetery, Weeton, Yorkshire
