1850 John Jarvis founded the firm, builders and decorators

His three sons built the business further.

1907 Incorporated as a private limited company

Expansion in and beyond London. Notable projects included Radcliffe Power Station in Lancashire, Sark Lighthouse and a church in Australia.

1920s and 30s: work included underground railway stations, municipal garages, factories and offices

WWII Constructed airfields, factories and offices

1946 Douglas Bailey Jarvis became managing director, the last of the family to hold this position[1]

1959 Incorporated as a public company.

1963 Joined the Multi-Storey Construction Association of Glasgow.

1986 The last member of the Jarvis family working in the company retired.

1987 Acquisition of controlling interest by Brookville Securities[2]. Property development was a significant part of the business.
