- 1915-16 service overseas with R.N.V.R.
- 1916-19 Experimental Wireless Officer.
- 1919-23 Assistant to Doctor Eccles, Finsbury Tech. College, and Lecturer in Electrical Machinery, Faraday House.
- 1923-30 Professor of Electrical Technology, Indian Institute of Science,(Hon. Fellow 1930).
