1950 Resume. 'Pending the retirement of Mr H. M. Tysoe, M Inst. Gas E., manager of the Keswick undertaking of the Northern Gas Board, the Board has appointed as his successor Mr J. R. Clark. M.Inst, Gas E., assistant engineer and manager of the Barnoldswick undertaking of the North Western Gas Board. Mr Clark, who is 36, received his training as a gas engineer with the former Newcastle and Gateshead Gas Co. He has since held positions with Brixham Gas and Electricity Co, Weymouth Consumers Gas Co. and finally at Barnoldswick, up his new appointment on December 1st. Mr Tysoe, who has reached the retirement age has had a long connection with the gas industry. He received his training under his father, who was engineer of East Greenwich Station of the South Metropolitan Gas Co. He subsequently held posts in Yorkshire. Kent, and, before coming to Keswick, was engineer and manager of the gas department of Johannesburg. where he was responsible for the complete construction of new works. Mr Tysoe came to Keswick in January, 1932.'[1]
