J & W Stothert of 11 Northgate Street, Bath

John and William were sons of George Stothert, Senior by his marriage to Elizabeth Asprey. There were two other brothers, Henry Asprey Stothert and Richard, and a sister, Catherine. They also had a brother by their father's first marriage, George Jnr.

From 1819 or earlier, John and William Stothert had taken over running of the ironmongery business from their father, George Stothert.

c.1837 William retired

1842 John took into partnership Thomas Walker, and the business became known as Stothert and Walker [1]
