A highly regarded and world-renowned manufacturer of handmade custom bicycles & tandems.

Brothers Jack, Norman, and Ken Taylor were professional cyclists in Britain in the 1930s and 40s. Dissatisfied with the equipment available to them, they began hand building their own frames.

This led to the foundation of Jack Taylor Cycles, the deeply-influential bicycle company the three brothers ran together for nearly seven decades.

The Taylor brothers had produced more than 8500 quality hand–built machines between them over the years. Many are still in existence and are treasured by enthusiasts around the world.

1936 - Jack Taylor begins building bicycles as a part time hobby.

1942 - Jack bought land in Church Road, Stockton-on-Tees, and established their manufacturing base, known as "the works".

1945 - Formally established the "Jack Taylor Cycles" business. A family owned & run business by brothers Jack, Norman & Ken Taylor.

1986 - Subject of a BBC documentary "The Bike Brothers - Jack, Ken and Norman Taylor".

1990 - Business stops operating from Church Road.

2008 - Norman Taylor dies.

2014 - Founder Jack Taylor dies.
