1831 April 21st. Married in Leeds to Charlotte Maude. Jacob is a machine maker.

1858 New patents: Thomas Greenwood, John Batley, and Jacob Dockray, of Leeds, machine makers, for improvements in machinery for carding, opening, straightening, and preparing to be spun, tow and other fibrous materials, Dated April 8, 1858.[1]

1871 Living at 1 Charlotte Street, Hunslet: Jacob Dockray (age 61 born Holbeck), Town Counsellor, Poor Law Guardian, Machinist employing 24 men and 2 boys. With his wife Charlotte Dockray (age 58 born Hunslet) and their grand-daughter Charlotte M. Dockray (age 7 born Hunslet). One servant.[2]
