1952 Obituary 
"JACQUES ADOLPHE DOMENET, who was born in 1895, was educated in France at the Ecole Nationale Professionelle de Viergons and received his technical training at the Ecole Nationale des Arts et Metiers where he obtained the engineering diploma of arts and crafts and a silver medal. He served an apprenticeship at the same institute concurrently with his technical training, from 1912 to 1919. His first employment was that of junior draughtsman to the Societe Generale de Constructions Metaliques et de Materiel, at Bordeaux. In 1921 he began a connection with the firm of Michelin et Cie, and its associated English company, which lasted for eighteen years. Beginning as engineer, he was subsequently placed in charge of the research department in France. He then held in succession the positions of commercial engineer to the Michelin Tyre Company, Ltd., London, and production manager in France until 1927, when he went to Stoke-on-Trent where, for the next twelve years, he acted in the latter capacity for the Michelin Tyre Company, Ltd. His final position with the company was that of works manager with responsibility to the managing director for the complete charge of the factory and 2,500 employees.
He resigned this appointment in 1949 and went into business on his own account as managing director of J. A. Domenet, Ltd., Stoke-on-Trent, engineers, retaining, however, his seat on the board of the Michelin Tyre Company, Ltd. Mr. Domenet, whose death occurred on 11th July 1950, was elected a Member of the Institution in 1948."
