1939 James Adam and Sons (Yacht Builders) Limited was registered as a private company, with capital of £4,000, to carry on the business of shipbuilders, builders, makers, designers and repairers of sailing, steam and motor vessels, yachts, etc.[2]

1971 The company was dissolved, by which time it had changed its name to James Adam and Sons (Ship Repairers) Limited.[3]
