1853 After the death of his partner, Thomas Frost, James Eastwood continued in business for himself.

c.1855 J. Eastwood built his Railway Iron Works on land neighbouring Swingler's Victoria works in Derby.

At some point took his sons into the business.

1867 Joined with Swingler and Son to become Eastwood, Swingler and Co
