1829 Married at Liverpool to Ann Williamson

1851 Living at 1 Egerton Street, Liverpool: James Evans (age 56 born Chester), Coachmaker employing 23 men and apprentices. With his wife Ann and two daughters.[1]

1855 Death of Margaret, in the 25th year of her age, the daughter of Mr James Evans, coachbuilder, Seel-street.[2]

1859 Patented a design of Hansom cab

1863 Birkenhead coach-builder, James Evans, Tarlton-street, Liverpool, the Viceroy cab.[3]

1865 Moved business from Tarlton Street to 46 Seel Street.[4]
