1940 James Garvie and Sons Limited was incorporated as a private company, with capital of £5,000, to carry on the business of manufacturers and bottlers of and dealers in mineral and aerated waters.[1]

1950 The company took over the factory at 67 James Street, Helensburgh, formerly James A. Reid's Lily Springs, to begin production there also.[2]
