1892 Married 'The locomotive engineering works Kittybrewster were yesterday very prettily decorated in honour of the marriage of the popular locomotive superintendent of the Great North of Scotland Railway, Mr James Johnson to Miss Drummond, Glasgow, daughter of the late locomotive superintendent of the Caledonian Railway Company, and now proprietor the Glasgow Railway Works. Mr Johnson, who formerly occupied position on the Midland Railway, was appointed locomotive superintendent Great North of Scotland Railway Company about two years ago in succession to Mr Manson, and during the time has filled this important post he has not only earned the confidence of his employers, but also the respect and esteem of the whole body workmen under him.'[3]
