With his wife Sarah Mills (age 52 born Bury) and their son James Mills (age 32 born Heywood), iron founder; their daughter-in-law Sarah Mills (age 3 born Bury); their daughter Sarah A Mills (age 27 born Heywood); and their grand-daughters Emma Mills (age 2 born Heywood), Elizabeth Mills (age 1 born Heywood). Also his niece Jane Bates (age 32 born Heywood), Widow. 
1871 Living at Moss Cottage, Heywood: James Mills (age 42 born Bury), iron founder, employing 60 men and 6 boys. With his wife Sarah Mills (age 44 born Bury) and their children; Emma Mills (age 12 born Bury); Elizabeth Mills (age 11 born Bury); Sarah A Mills 9 born Bury); Jane Mills (age 7 born Bury); Mary Ella Mills (age 5 born Bury); and Matthew W. Mills (age 2 born Bury). Two servants.
1880 October 26th. Died, of Moss Cottage, Heywood. His widow Sarah, was to be one of his executors..
