1871 Living at William Street, Aston: James Parkes (age 34 born Wolverhampton), Brass Worker. With his wife Maria (age 30 born Haveley) and their four sons: Joseph Parkes (age 8 born Birmingham), Brass Worker; James Parkes (age 6 born Birmingham), Brass Worker; Thomas Parkes (age 3 born Birmingham); and William Parkes (age 1 born Birmingham). Also daughter Harriet Parkes (age 3 born Birmingham).[1]

1881 Living at 97 Gerrard Street, Aston: James Parkes (age 44 born Wolverhampton), Brass Founder. With his wife Maria (age 40 born Bridgnorth) and their four sons: Joseph Parkes (age 18 born Birmingham); James Parkes (age 16 born Birmingham); Thomas Parkes (age 13 born Birmingham); and William Parkes (age 11 born Birmingham). Also daughter Harriet Parkes (age 13 born Birmingham).[2]

1891 Living at 4 Waverhill Road, Handsworth: James Parkes (age 54 born Wolverhampton), Brassfounder - Employer. With his wife Maria and three children.[3]

1897 Died. Probate to his widow Maria and Thomas Parkes, cycle manufacturer.
