1813 Married (1) to Peggy Maria Terry at Beckenham, Kent. They had three sons and a daughter.

1829 Married (2) to Caroline Benson at Belton, Lincolnshire. They had three sons and two daughters.

Designed the Huddersfield Railway Station and York Cemetery among others.
