1913 James Porteous and Company Limited was incorporated as a private company, with capital of £75,000, to carry on the business of manufacturers of woollen fabrics or fabrics manufactured partly of wool and partly of some other material; dyers, bleachers, calenderers, and warehousemen.[1]

1964 The company went into voluntary liquidation.[2]
