Born in Stowmarket the son of James Waller Hewitt

1903 'An engagement is announced between James Roland Hewitt, only son of the late James Waller Hewitt of Combs. Stowmarket, Suffolk, and of Mrs Mappin. Cromwell Road, South Kensington, and Margaret (Daisy) third surviving daughter of the late William Campbell of Inistrynich, Argyleshire, and Mrs Campbell Muir, Victoria Street.'[1]

1903 Married in Westminster to Daisy Campbell Muir, daughter of the late William Campbell Muir.[2]

1911 Appointed manager of the newly opened Daimler depot in Birmingham. Formerly assistant manager of London depot.[3]

1911 Living at Forest Hotel, Dorridge, Solihull: James Roland Hewitt (age 35 born Stowmarket), Branch Manager - Motor Manufacturer. With his wife Margaret Campbell Hewitt (age 28 born Edinburgh) and their daughter Irene Mary Hewitt (age 6 born London). One servant.[4]
