JAMES SHENTON, head of the firm of Shenton & Co., Limited, boilermakers, Hyde, Lancashire, died suddenly on June 25, 1898, at the age of fifty-seven. He was a well-known member of the Manchester District Engineers' Association, leader of the Conservative party in the Town Council, and President of the Newton Moor Conservative Club.
He was elected a member of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1891.
