Born the son of Samuel Smith, a Tailor.

1901 Living at Netherwood House, Keighley: James Smith (age 65 born Keighley), Machine Tool Maker - Employer. With his wife Martha and son Harry Smith. Also his SIL.[1]

1906 January. Died.

  • 1943 'Arthur Smith of Laurel Mount, Keighley, a former Mayor of the Borough, brother of Sir Harry Smith, K.B.E., died yesterday, aged 72. He was the son of the late Mr. James Smith. one of the original members of the firm of Dean, Smith and Grace, Ltd, lathe makers, and was a director of that firm until he retired a few years ago.'[2]
