James Spooner
James Spooner (1790-1856)
1790 Born at Leigh, Powick near Worcester
Trained as a land surveyor and is believed to have worked as a civilian member of an Ordnance Survey team.
1813 Married Elizabeth Easton in Bloomsbury and his first three children were Matthew, James Swinton Spooner, and Caroline.
1818-24 Lived at Maentwrog where Charles Easton Spooner, Louisa, Thomas and Amelia were born.
When the North Wales survey was completed in 1823, Spooner, with his growing family, stayed and worked as a freelance surveyor.
1851 Living at Ynyscynhaiarm as a civil engineer with his wife and four servants.[1]
