James Vose

From Graces Guide

James Vose, of Manchester, was a regular contributor of articles on production engineering to engineering journals in the UK and USA.

Born in Bolton in 1862. He served an apprenticeship in the repair shops of the cotton mills of George Hopkinson and Son and Haslams Ltd. He then worked as a journeyman mechanic at Howarth Cryer and Co of Bolton, American Heald Co in Bolton, and Meldrum Brothers, Manchester, where he became Asst. Supt. Latterly he was a production engineering consultant. Address in 1906: 100 Ayres Road, Brooks Bar, Manchester.[1]
