1943 Died. 'Mr. James W. Murland, whose death has taken place at Newcastle, was formerly a member of the linen firm of Messrs. James Murland. Ltd., Annsborough. Castlewellan. founded over 100 years ago bv Mr. James Murland, his great-grandfather. When the firm was merged in the Ulster Weaving Co., Ltd., Lintield Road, Belfast, in 1937 Mr. Murland. who was then managing director, retired. For many years he acted as judge for the Irish Turf Club and for the Irish National Hunt Steeplechase Committee. His son. Major J. R. Murland, Inniskilling Dragoon Guards, is the author of book on the tank in warfare. A brother, Captain Warren Murland, is manager of the Annsborough premises, which are now working as a bleach green. Another brother is Mr. C. H. Murland, tax administrator. '[1]
