1798 Established by John A. Bertram.

1895 John A. Bertram and Company Limited was registered, with capital of £75,000, to acquire and carry on the business of wine and spirit merchants, and agents for the sale of corkwood, carried on under the name of John A. Bertram and Co, at 7 Quality Street, Leith.[1]

1980 By now a subsidiary of the Distillers Co.

1991 The company was wound up.
