1864 Birth of son John Arthur Aiton in India

1871 Residing at Kensington: John Aiton (age 34 born Scotland), Civil Engineer and railway Contractor. With his wife Hannah, two daughters and two sons.[1]

1911 Died. 'The death is announced of Mr. John Aiton, C.E., at the age of 74. He was identified with the early railway work in India, and since his retirement had resided mainly in Clifton. He was chairman of the Clifton Wood Industrial School, and was also formerly secretary of the Clifton Down Golf Club.'[2]
