1797 With George Culley prepared a report for the Board of Agriculture entitled "General View of the Agriculture of the County of Northumberland with observations on the means of its improvement" which recognised that threshing machines were becoming widespread in the northern part of the country[1] and also reported on the construction of ploughs[2]
