1950 Died. 'Mr John Bilsland owner of the Stanley White City and Seaforth greyhound tracks in Liverpool who has died aged 65 was a member of the Institute of Electrical Engineers. He lived at Aigburth-drive Liverpool at Gaisland in Stirlingshire. He leaves widow. Before the war Mr Bilsland saved the Stanley Rugby League club by allowing them to play on Stanley track. Since then they have built new ground at Knotty which was opened Lord Derby on Saturday. In 1936 Mr Bilsland successfully appealed against supertax assessment for 1933. It was then stated by counsel that he had paid £50,000 to buy out co-director of the Electric Hare Greyhound Racing Co Ltd'[1]
