1852. The first sea-going screw collier. Her first journey to London took 48 hours; she unloaded 630 tons of coal in 18 hours and then returned to Newcastle in 18 hours. Previous colliers took a month for this round trip.

She had a very long life under the Spanish flag before foundering as Villa Selgas in 1933.
