1866 Patent to John Brotherton, of the Imperial Tube Works, Wolverhampton, in the county of Stafford, Tube Manufacturer, has given notice in respect of the invention of "improvements in machinery for making the fittings for gas, steam, and water pipes"[1]
1869 Patent to Josiah Latimer Clark, of Westminster,in the county of Middlesex, Civil Engineer, and John Brotherton, of Wolverhampton, in the county of Stafford, Tube Manufacturer, for the invention of "improvements in the manufacture of iron and steel tubes."[2]
1884 William John Brotherton, mayor of Wolverhampton, exhibited the firm's range of wrought iron tubes and fittings of all descriptions.
