1881 Living at Perran Wharf, Perranarworthal, Cornwall: John Burgess (age 56 born Bath), Civil Engineer. With his wife Elizabeth A. Burgess (age 53 born Mylor, Cornwall) and their three children; Elizabeth E. C. Burgess (age 22 born Perranarworthal); Mary L. C. Burgess (age 17 born Perranarworthal) and Charles J. C. Burgess (age 9 born Perranarworthal).[1]

1890 Died. 'At Perranarworthal August 18th, John Burgess, of the firm od Sara and Burgess, Engineers, Penryn.'[2]
