1920 John C. Robertson (Saltcoats) Limited was incorporated as a private company, with capital of £5,000, to carry on the business of manufacturers of jam, marmalade, jellies, and confectionery.[1]

1927 Advertisement. 'Scotch Jams and Jellies. L. & A. Famed Preserves, made only with Pure Cane Sugar and Fresh Fruit. Refuse Substitutes. Insist in the best. To be had from all High-class Grocers. Sole proprietors - John C. Robertson (Saltcoats) Ltd, Scotland.'[2]
